Unibox review
A focused email client for Apple users who prefer sender-based organization.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Unibox is an email client for Mac, iPhone and iPad that organizes messages by sender instead of relying only on a chronological mailbox. It is aimed at people managing several IMAP accounts who want a sender-focused way to scan correspondence. The product supports Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live.com, Fastmail, QQMail, Microsoft Exchange with IMAP and self-hosted IMAP servers. Conversation and thread views, a unified account view, filters and attachment browsing round out the core email workflow.
Its plan structure is straightforward. The Free plan includes the iPhone and iPad app. Unibox Pro is available as an in-app purchase for the iOS app, while the Mac app is offered as a separate Mac application. That makes Unibox accessible to users who primarily want an iPhone or iPad email client, but Apple users planning to work across desktop and mobile should account for the separate Mac offering. The published plan structure keeps the focus on the applications themselves rather than a larger collaboration suite.
The strongest fit is for Apple users who value sender grouping, unified accounts and practical message triage. Filters for unread, starred, attachment and address-book messages help narrow an inbox, while attachment list and grid views provide a dedicated way to find files. Single-window composition and aliases with separate SMTP servers add useful control for multi-account email. Users who need broader platform coverage or a deeper set of advanced email features should consider an alternative; Unibox is more focused on reorganizing everyday email than expanding into a full productivity ecosystem.
