A mature email API with broad developer features, but no ongoing free plan.

Twilio SendGrid is a cloud email delivery service for developers and organizations sending transactional or application email. Its coverage spans RESTful sending, SMTP relay, dynamic templates, delivery analytics, event webhooks, inbound email parsing, and shared or dedicated sending IP addresses. The platform supports web and API workflows, with official client libraries for C#, Go, Java, Node.js, PHP, Python, and Ruby. It is suited to established teams that need more than basic outbound email delivery and want one service for sending, monitoring, and inbound message handling.
Pricing is structured around monthly email volume and selected features. The Free trial provides 100 emails per day for 60 days without a credit card. Essentials starts at $19.95 per month, with a 50,000-email tier listed in the pricing FAQ. Pro starts at $89.95 per month and includes a dedicated IP. Premier uses custom pricing. The published plans make the trial useful for evaluation, while ongoing use requires a paid tier; the Essentials starting price may also be less suitable for smaller projects with limited sending needs.
SendGrid’s strongest fit is its breadth. Event webhooks cover processed, delivered, bounced, deferred, open, and click events, while inbound parsing delivers message contents and attachments through webhooks. Dynamic templates add versions, visual editing, and personalization data, and delivery analytics support monitoring and deliverability work. Teams that need API and SMTP options, multiple language libraries, inbound email, and dedicated IP capability should find the feature mix relevant. A simpler email sender may be a better choice for projects that only need occasional outbound messages or an ongoing free plan.
