TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 is Windows desktop software for editing video and producing DVD-Video, Blu-ray BDMV, and AVCHD projects. It is aimed at users creating personal, professional, or distribution-ready optical media who need more control than basic disc-burning software provides. Its workflow covers menu design, manual and automatic chapter creation, subtitle insertion, audio streams, project simulation, ISO image creation, and disc burning. Frame-level cut editing, scene detection, and photo slideshow creation extend it beyond menu assembly, while batch authoring supports sequential project output.

The feature depth is the main reason to choose it. Menu creation includes more than 130 templates, and projects can include up to eight subtitle streams and four audio streams. Subtitles can be switchable or hardcoded, and smart rendering processes unchanged video sections without requiring the same treatment as edited material. DVD-Video, Blu-ray BDMV, and AVCHD authoring are covered, with both manual and automatic chapter tools. For users handling several projects or preparing structured optical media, batch authoring, ISO creation, burning, and project simulation form a broad production workflow rather than a narrowly focused authoring tool.

Pricing is straightforward but significant: the Full Version costs $122 one time and includes a lifetime license. A $97.6 User Discount is available to eligible owners of Pegasys products, while the $73.2 Upgrade is for eligible owners of TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6; both are also lifetime licenses. The software requires Windows 10/11 64-bit, so it is not suited to users seeking cross-platform authoring. BDXL import and writing are not supported. Choose it for advanced Windows-based DVD, Blu-ray, or AVCHD work with multiple streams and detailed output control; choose an alternative if you need another operating system or BDXL support.
