ThePhotoStick review
A physical USB backup option for nontechnical users who prefer one-time pricing.

ThePhotoStick combines USB storage with companion apps for backing up photos, videos, and other files from Windows PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. It is aimed at nontechnical users who want a physical backup device rather than a recurring cloud subscription. The software scans selected computers and mobile devices, copies supported files to the device, skips duplicates, and supports formats including JPEG, HEIC, PNG, GIF, TIFF, and multiple camera RAW formats. Weekly ongoing backups and in-app file viewing and organization extend it beyond a one-time transfer.
Pricing is organized by storage capacity in the Omni Classic line. ThePhotoStick Omni Classic 32GB costs $99.99 one time, followed by 64GB at $114.99, 128GB at $134.99, 256GB at $185.99, and 512GB at $234.99. Each Classic plan includes plug-and-play photo, video, and file backup with Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android compatibility. ThePhotoStick Omni X 16GB costs $104.99 one time and adds backup, organization, and storage across multiple devices with a free companion app. The pricing model is straightforward, but buyers need to select enough physical capacity for their library.
Its main strength is breadth across computer and mobile platforms without requiring a monthly plan. Automatic scanning, duplicate skipping, RAW support, and recurring weekly backups make it suitable for consolidating media from several devices. The trade-off is the storage model: capacity is tied to the purchased USB device, so larger libraries may require a higher-capacity model or additional storage devices. Choose ThePhotoStick if you want local, plug-in backup and app-based organization with one-time pricing. Choose an alternative if you need expandable cloud storage or a subscription-based backup system.
