Telnyx Fax API is a programmable service for organizations that need to send, receive, and manage faxes through software rather than traditional fax infrastructure. It is suited to developers building fax workflows for healthcare, finance, legal, and other compliance-sensitive operations. The API supports both outbound and inbound faxing, fax-capable number provisioning and porting, inbound forwarding to email, delivery and failure status events, and webhook notifications. Its starting rate is $0.007 per page, with usage billed by page and no monthly fee on the Pay as you go plan.
Pricing is structured around three plans. Pay as you go has no monthly minimum and includes standard per-page rates, card-on-file billing, and automatic tier discounts as usage crosses thresholds. Committed costs $500 per month and adds discounted rates across usage, a named account manager, priority support, and higher limits. Enterprise costs $5,000 per month and includes custom pricing, dedicated infrastructure and IPs, private interconnect, and unlimited rate limits. Fax usage is billed per page, while SIP Trunking transmission usage is charged separately; rates may vary by destination and volume tier.
The standout capability is control over fax delivery inside an application. Developers can choose normal, high, or very high resolution and use T.38 or G.711 pass-through support, while delivery, failure, and other fax webhook events provide status visibility. Automatic error correction is also included. Telnyx Fax API is a strong fit for high-volume teams that want low per-page pricing and programmable inbound and outbound workflows. Teams needing a free plan, a non-API fax interface, or a single bundled price that includes SIP Trunking should consider a different approach.
