Taiga is an open-source project management platform for cross-functional teams working with Scrum or Kanban. It combines Kanban boards, Scrum backlogs, sprint planning, issue and bug tracking, epics, sub-tasks, dashboards, timelines, notifications, CSV reports and wikis. Custom roles, permissions, stages, tags and fields support teams that need to shape workflows around their delivery process. Taiga is available through a hosted cloud service or as self-hosted software, making it a fit for agile teams that value control over their project environment.
Pricing is structured by plan rather than per user. The Free plan includes one public project, one private project, up to 10MB of storage and unlimited users. Enthusiast costs €5 per month when billed monthly and provides five public projects, five private projects, up to 100MB of storage and unlimited users. Basic costs €20 per month with unlimited projects, up to 500MB of storage and unlimited users. Premium costs €60 per month with unlimited projects, up to 3GB of storage and unlimited users. Private Cloud adds a dedicated Taiga instance, unlimited projects and users, plus managed installation and updates. On premise adds priority support with SLA and use behind a firewall or VPN.
Its workflow depth is the main reason to consider it: Kanban includes swimlanes, filters and WIP limits, while Scrum covers backlogs, sprint planning and sprint task boards. REST API access, webhooks and importers for GitHub, Jira and Trello extend its project portability. GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gogs and Slack are the documented integrations. Choose Taiga when open-source flexibility, agile planning and self-hosting matter more than a broad integration catalog or documented time-tracking and automation features. Teams needing those capabilities should evaluate alternatives.
