Tabtify is a browser-based music transcription and tab editing service for guitarists, bassists, ukulele players, teachers, creators, and producers. It converts audio, MIDI, recordings, and public media links into editable tablature, with settings for instrument setup, tuning, capo, and playing profile. The editor covers notes, rhythm, measures, and fret choices, so it suits users who want to review and adjust generated tabs rather than only receive a finished file.
Pricing is structured around a free editor and three paid options. The Free editor supports blank tabs, opening and editing tab files, and browser-based editing. The Monthly plan costs $12 per month and the Annual plan costs $59 per year; both include unlimited AI conversions with tracks up to 15 minutes. The Lifetime plan costs $129 one time and adds lifetime access alongside unlimited AI conversions for tracks up to 15 minutes. This makes the free tier useful for manual tab work, while paid plans are required for the conversion workflow.
Tabtify’s strongest category fit is its combination of transcription, editing, playback, and file compatibility. Instrument isolation can be applied before transcription, while playback, looping, and media synchronization help with reviewing sections. It opens GP3, GP4, GP5, GPX, GP, MusicXML, XML, and MXL files, then exports MIDI, Guitar Pro, alphaTex, PDF, and MusicXML. Users who need a broad tab workflow across several string instruments should consider it. Those who require a native desktop or mobile application, or regularly transcribe tracks longer than 15 minutes, should choose an alternative.
