A low-cost Windows tab editor with playback, drums, MIDI export, and printing.

TabIt is a Windows desktop program for creating, playing, printing, and exporting guitar, bass, and banjo tablature. It is aimed at musicians who want a focused composition tool for string-instrument tabs rather than a broader notation or recording environment. Playback runs through computer speakers, while text and MIDI export provide ways to share or move arrangements into other workflows. The vendor also provides a community tablature area for downloading tabs for viewing and playback.
The published plan is straightforward: the Full version costs $19 as a one-time payment. It includes up to 2,000 bars, multiple simultaneous tracks, MIDI export, and unlimited-page printing. The feature set extends to up to 15 simultaneous instrument tracks, drum tracks with up to 47 drums, pitch bend and modulation controllers, tap tempo, plain-text export, and MIDI-file export. A downloadable trial is available before registration for full functionality, so the pricing model does not depend on a recurring subscription.
TabIt's strongest fit is a Windows user who wants inexpensive multitrack tablature with playback and practical export options. Its narrow scope is also its clearest boundary: the notation mode is tablature only, and audio recording is not included. The product is therefore less suited to musicians who need standard notation, recording tools, or a broader cross-platform setup. The official product information describes an old Windows release, and the FAQ was last updated in 2007, which is worth considering when evaluating platform fit and ongoing suitability.
