SuperSplat review
A free, open-source browser editor for cleaning, converting, rendering and sharing Gaussian Splat scenes.

SuperSplat is PlayCanvas’s free, open-source tool for inspecting, cleaning, editing, optimizing and publishing 3D Gaussian Splat scenes. It suits creators, developers and teams that want a browser-based scene editor across web, Windows and macOS, with local processing during editing. The workflow covers selection, cropping, floater removal, transformations, measurement, alignment, color and appearance controls, plus camera animation and realtime scene viewing.
Its strongest distinction is the breadth of work available in one editor without a paid SuperSplat tier. Scenes can be imported and exported through PLY, compressed PLY, SOG, SPLAT and SPZ formats, while standalone HTML and ZIP viewer packages support distribution beyond the editor. Local still-image and video rendering keeps processing in the browser until publication, and one-click publishing creates shareable links with an embeddable interactive viewer. Those capabilities make SuperSplat practical for asset cleanup, format conversion, presentation and lightweight delivery workflows.
The trade-off is focus: SuperSplat concentrates on Gaussian Splat editing and publishing rather than AI-assisted creation, since no AI features are included. Its browser-centered design may not suit teams that require a native-only application or a broader general-purpose 3D production suite. Support is provided through documentation and community channels, and published scenes are organized around superspl.at sharing and embeds. Choose SuperSplat when free, local browser editing and straightforward web delivery matter most; consider another tool when AI workflows, specialized native pipelines or different publishing requirements are priorities.
