Sugo review
A recipe library with voice-led cooking, meal planning and shared cook sessions.

Sugo brings recipes from links, screenshots, photos of recipe cards and cookbook pages into a searchable library, then organizes ingredients, steps, cooking times and servings. It is aimed at home cooks who want recipes close at hand while cooking, along with tools to plan meals and track pantry ingredients. The hands-free mode uses voice commands and timers, and cook parties let people share steps and timers. The app is available on web, macOS, iOS and Android, with browser-extension deployment also listed.
The free Home cook plan includes unlimited saved recipes and pantry, but caps imports at 25 links and 5 photo/video imports per month. It also allows one cookbook, one meal plan and a cook party with a friend. According to the vendor's pricing page, sugo+ costs $5 per month when billed annually or $7.99 month to month. It adds unlimited cookbooks and meal plans, a real-time voice sous-chef, recipe remixes, AI cover art, pantry photo scans and cook parties with up to 4 friends. A 7-day free trial is offered without a required card. The listed famiglia plan adds household sharing, shared meal planning, grocery lists and pantry, unlimited imports and remixes, and cook parties with up to 10 friends.
Sugo's strongest fit is cooks who value voice-led guidance and want planning, shopping lists and pantry matching in one recipe workflow. Shared cook sessions distinguish its feature mix from a recipe archive focused only on saving and organizing. However, the free plan's import caps and single cookbook and meal plan may constrain frequent planners; sugo+ is the clearer fit for those needs. Households wanting shared lists and pantry tracking should consider famiglia, while cooks who only need a place to store recipes may not need its paid planning and collaboration features.
