Structure combines 3D scanning software with development tools for healthcare, clinical, industrial, and augmented-reality workflows. Structure Capture turns compatible iPhones and iPads, Structure Sensor hardware, Apple TrueDepth, and selected Apple LiDAR workflows into scanning systems. It builds 3D models during capture, reconstructs polygon meshes, processes point clouds and depth data, and exports files for modeling or fabrication. The product is suited to organizations that need mobile depth capture, while Structure SDK is aimed at teams embedding scanning capabilities into their own applications.

The product line is divided between Capture subscriptions and SDK plans. Structure Capture Monthly and Structure Capture Annual both include unlimited scans and exports, with a 7-day free trial available for the paid product. SDK Basic adds Structure Sensor scanning, usage reporting, iOS update compatibility, anthropometrics, landmark detection, and measurements. SDK Professional adds original Structure Sensor support, dedicated account management, and dedicated onboarding support. SDK Premium adds TrueDepth scanning, a Scan Quality Indicator, and one-to-one app integration support. SDK Enterprise extends this with multi-application use, OMS capabilities, special SDK implementation, 510(k) clearance support, and customer troubleshooting support.

Its strongest differentiator is the combination of real-time capture and application-development features. Export support covers OBJ, STL, PLY, GLB, GLTF, and 3MF, while SDK key and cloud-account management support operational deployment. Foot landmark detection and measurements add practical value for clinical and assessment workflows. Platform coverage spans web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, with cloud and mobile deployment plus email and documentation support. Choose Structure for depth-sensor capture, point-cloud processing, or embedded scanning workflows; teams seeking a free scanner or a simpler standalone tool should look elsewhere.

Structure pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Real-time capture with mesh reconstruction and point-cloud processing
    • Exports OBJ, STL, PLY, GLB, GLTF, and 3MF files
    • SDK includes landmarks, measurements, quality indicators, and integrations
  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan is available
    • Advanced capabilities are concentrated in higher SDK tiers
    • Capture and SDK offerings serve different use cases
