Stickman & Elemento review
A figure-focused Windows editor with keyframes, bone controls and a 30-day trial.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Stickman & Elemento is a Windows desktop editor for making 2D animations from figures, backgrounds and other elements. Its workflow centers on keyframes, control points, switches and matrix tools, while the included Elemento editor is used to create figures and backgrounds. That makes it a fit for solo creators, small teams and classroom projects focused on figure-based animation, especially users who want skeletal controls without a broader production workflow.
For figure work, the software combines automatically calculated in-betweens with control points for animating body parts and bones created in Elemento. Figure layers can use switches for alternate poses, including mouth poses. The documented mouth workflow is manually synchronized with sound rather than automatic lip sync. Camera movement, multiple cameras, sound triggers, and animated volume and pan extend the workflow beyond posing. Assets can be imported in PNG, JPEG, GIF and PSD formats; listed integrations include Photoshop, GIMP and Pivot Stickfigure 2.2.5.
The download page lists Stickman 5.6 at $10 as a one-time purchase, with a 30-day trial. It also lists Stickman 5.7 (Alpha) as free. The available release notes date Stickman 5.6 to 2011 and 5.7 Alpha to 2013, so the age of the listed releases is an important consideration for buyers. Rendering options include video, Flash, single-frame PNGs, sprite sheets and animation data. Stickman & Elemento suits users who specifically want a Windows figure-animation tool with bones and sound controls; creators needing another operating system or automatic mouth synchronization should look elsewhere.
