Square Online is a web-based website builder and e-commerce platform for businesses that want to sell products or services online. Its core tools cover customizable e-commerce themes, product catalogs, checkout, shipping, in-store pickup, local delivery, customer accounts and order history. Inventory can synchronize with Square Point of Sale, while SEO tools, social media integrations, email and text marketing, eGift cards and loyalty integrations extend the storefront. It is best suited to businesses whose main workflow is online commerce rather than appointment management.

Pricing is structured per location per month. Square Free costs $0 and includes online store features, a website builder and online payments. Square Plus costs $49 per location per month and adds more online store features, lower processing rates and 500 included text messages per month. Square Premium costs $149 per location per month and adds expanded business features, lower processing rates and 2,500 included text messages per month. Square Pro uses custom pricing and includes onboarding and implementation support, technical specialists and account management. A 30-day free trial is also available.

Square Online fits businesses that need a storefront connected to Square Point of Sale, with integrations for Instagram, Facebook, Google, OpenTable and Eventbrite. However, its product scope remains centered on commerce. Booking pages, calendar synchronization, group booking, round-robin scheduling, automated reminders and appointment payment collection are not part of the core product. Businesses choosing Square Online should do so for online selling, inventory and order workflows. Businesses that primarily need clients to book appointments should choose a dedicated scheduling product or the separate appointment capabilities in the broader Square ecosystem instead.
