Sound Particles is a standalone audio workstation for sound designers, composers, musicians, game-audio teams, and film or television post-production professionals. Its focus is creating, positioning, multiplying, automating, and rendering sound in 3D space. The software combines particle-based sound generation with 3D movement, virtual microphones, binaural monitoring, surround and high-order Ambisonics workflows, virtual instruments, third-party plug-ins, recording, and clip-level editing. It runs on macOS and Windows and exports BWF (.WAV) and AIFF (.AIFF) files.
Pricing is organized across Artist, Professional, and Enterprise tiers, with both perpetual and monthly options. Artist costs $199 one-time or $9.95 per month and includes up to 100 particles, up to 6 microphone channels, and 15 AI messages per day. Professional costs $499 one-time or $24.95 per month, increasing capacity to 10,000 particles and unlimited microphone channels while adding 20 AI messages per day and batch processing. Enterprise costs $1990 one-time or $99 per month, with unlimited particles, unlimited microphone channels, 30 AI messages per day, batch processing, ADM beds and objects, and CGI import. A 30-day free trial is available.
The main distinction is its breadth across immersive audio production rather than a narrow stereo mixing workflow. ADM import, export, object budgeting, metadata workflows, MIDI, VST3 plug-ins, Explorer Cloud, and Space Controller support connect the workstation to production pipelines, while the AI Assistant can help with project setup and adjustments. Artist suits smaller spatial projects, while Professional and Enterprise are better aligned with larger sessions and advanced ADM work. Buyers seeking immersive sound design, particle-based generation, and surround workflows should consider it; those wanting a free tool or a non-beta product should choose an alternative.
