SoftPlan is professional home-design software for architects, builders, designers, and remodelers working on residential and light commercial projects. It brings 2D floor-plan drafting, 3D modeling, rendering, construction-document generation, BIM, parametric design, material lists, estimates, and waste-factor calculations into one Windows desktop application. The product also includes SoftList, reView, and SoftPlan+ cloud services with the current subscription, giving established construction professionals a broader workflow than a basic floor-plan drawing tool.

Pricing is subscription-based and billed monthly. New users and additional stations are listed at $169 per month, with SoftPlan, SoftList, reView, and SoftPlan+ cloud services included. Existing supported license holders can access SoftPlan+ upgrades for $79 per month. The published plans show a paid product with no free plan, so the lower starting price applies to supported existing users rather than new accounts. Buyers should also account for the Windows-only desktop requirement when evaluating workstation fit.

Its strongest advantage is workflow depth. SoftPlan supports construction documents, physically based rendering textures, AI-enhanced rendering, automatic material lists, cost estimates, and waste calculations, while DWG and DXF import and export support technical exchange. SketchUp symbols and model export, Google Earth site modeling, and integrations with AutoCAD, Lumion, MiTek, and REScheck extend its role beyond basic layout work. Project sharing and client markups are handled through reView, with comments supporting collaboration. SoftPlan is a strong fit for established Windows-based construction professionals who need design-to-document workflows; teams wanting browser-first access, broader platform coverage, or automated measurements should consider alternatives.
