Smartcat is a translation and localization platform for global companies, language service providers, and translators. It handles AI translation for documents, websites, software, video, audio, images, and courses, while supporting human review workflows. Translation memories, custom glossaries, project management, collaboration, APIs, and integrations make it suited to organizations managing multilingual content across multiple systems.

Pricing is structured around annual plans. Adapt starts at $1,200 per year and includes the Chief of Staff, Content Translator Coworker, Content Creator Coworker, all content types, unlimited users, and linear workflows. Accelerate costs $24,000 per year and adds the Reviewer Coworker, marketplace experts, and partner and vendor collaboration. Anticipate costs $60,000 per year and adds the Content Update Coworker and Quality Assurance Coworker. Autonomous is a custom enterprise plan with custom integrations, an Org-wide Intelligence Fabric, parallelization, priority support, and a guaranteed response SLA. A 15-day full-platform trial is available, but there is no free plan.

Its main strength is breadth. Smartcat supports website translation with visual review, JavaScript publishing, and SEO settings; document translation for PDFs, Office documents, images, video, audio, and courses; and automated workflows through a REST API and webhooks. Google Drive, Google Sheets, Chrome Extension, OneDrive, GitHub, Jira, Contentful, WordPress via WPML, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, and Sitecore integrations extend its platform fit. Large enterprises with high-volume, varied localization needs should consider Smartcat. Organizations seeking a free plan, a lower annual starting price, or a narrower translation tool may prefer an alternative.
