SlopProx review
A free, local Windows detector with useful forensic signals but limited reach.

SlopProx is a freemium AI detection and filtering tool for Windows users who want local signals while browsing. Its open-source core detects AI-generated text with heuristics and an ONNX transformer, checks images with a three-model ensemble, inspects C2PA, EXIF, and PNG metadata, and filters YouTube AI-content disclosures. The vendor describes on-device inference without cloud calls or telemetry. Chrome extensions extend the browser experience, while the product is also aimed at journalists, researchers, editors, newsrooms, universities, and legal or research teams.
The free Open Source plan is free forever and includes open-source, on-device processing. Individual Pro is designed for a single seat and includes all model updates, while Teams uses a shared licence key and covers the whole team. The published product details list a starting price of 49, but the paid Pro plans are coming soon and invite users to register interest. Pro also adds a browser-based forensic signal breakdown. This structure makes the free tier the clearest entry point for individual Windows users, with paid options positioned for professional workflows.
SlopProx’s strongest differentiator is its combination of detection, metadata inspection, disclosure filtering, and Enhanced Mode ad and tracker blocking through a local HTTPS proxy. That proxy is intended to provide system-wide coverage rather than limiting checks to one browser page. The trade-off is a narrow platform and ecosystem footprint: coverage is centered on Windows and Chrome, with no stated API, reporting exports, or integrations. Choose SlopProx for local forensic review during browsing; teams needing broader platform support, connected workflows, or formal reporting should choose an alternative.
