Slimming World combines a weight-loss programme with an app for members joining through local groups or its online service. It is aimed at people who want a defined approach to food and activity alongside member support, rather than a standalone calorie-counting app. Food Optimising uses Free Foods, Healthy Extras and Swips; the app supports meal planning, food-choice records, barcode checks, weekly weight tracking, goals and action plans. Recipes, activity content, community and virtual events extend the programme beyond logging meals and weight.

The published UK plans pair online access with different extras. Bronze costs £60 for three months and includes a member pack; Silver costs £65 for three months and adds two recipe books. Gold costs £80 for three months and adds a one-year magazine subscription to the Silver inclusions. Ongoing membership is £20 per month for online renewal. These are paid membership options, not a free standalone app: the app itself is free for members. Prices differ by region, so the UK amounts may not apply elsewhere.

For platform fit, Slimming World is available on iOS, Android and web, and its activity steps sync with Fitbit, Apple Health and Google Fit. The app also includes on-demand exercise videos, member podcasts and searchable recipes with dietary and meal-type filters. This makes it a stronger fit for members who value a programme and community around tracking than for people looking primarily for detailed nutrition analysis or an independent app experience. Choose it if the group or digital membership structure and Food Optimising approach suit you; consider another option if membership access or the ongoing monthly fee is a poor fit.
