Skio is a subscription platform for Shopify merchants selling recurring products. It supports Shopify selling plans, subscription checkout, recurring billing, prepaid subscriptions, branded customer self-service, and retention workflows. Customers can skip orders, pause subscriptions, change products, update payment methods, and adjust delivery frequency through the portal. The product is aimed at growing and enterprise subscription businesses that need more than basic recurring billing, particularly high-volume Shopify brands managing retention and payment recovery.

Pricing is designed for businesses with meaningful subscription volume. Scale costs $499 per month with annual billing or $599 per month with monthly billing, and both options include advanced segmentation, payment recovery campaigns with timing optimization, Journeys lifecycle automation, SkioSMS, native integrations, webhooks, an API, and a no-code customer portal. Subscription orders also carry a 1% + 20¢ transaction fee. Enterprise includes everything in Scale, plus direct product roadmap input, early access, emergency support, a dedicated merchant success manager, and custom development. The higher entry price and lack of a free plan make Skio a poor fit for smaller brands validating subscription demand.

Its strongest case is the combination of operational controls and retention tooling. Payment retries, dunning management, recovery campaigns, cancel flows, and lifecycle automation address common subscription churn points, while analytics and segmentation support more targeted programs. The integration set includes Attentive, BigQuery, Bloomreach, Cordial, Daasity, Gladly, Gorgias, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Postscript, and others. APIs and webhooks also support custom workflows. Choose Skio when Shopify is central and subscription operations justify the cost; consider a simpler alternative when you need only basic recurring billing or a lower-cost starting point.
