Sketch review
A deep UI design suite for established Mac-focused teams willing to pay for collaboration.

Sketch is a UI and product design platform for solo designers and teams. Its native Mac app covers vector interface design, illustration, reusable Symbols and Styles, Color Variables, shared Libraries, interactive prototypes, and device preview. The browser-based app extends access to developers, managers, and stakeholders, who can view, inspect, comment on, and collaborate around designs without a Mac. An iOS app supports document and prototype previews plus real-time mirroring from the Mac app, while MCP server connectivity supports AI clients.
Pricing is structured around team size and organizational requirements. Standard costs $12 per editor per month with annual billing and includes real-time collaboration, unlimited documents, unlimited free viewers, document version history, and free developer handoff. Professional costs $24 per editor per month with annual billing and adds Single Sign-On, project archiving, and permissions groups. Enterprise costs $44 per editor per month with annual billing and adds SCIM provisioning, BYOK encryption, dedicated support, and custom reviews and terms. Private Cloud includes Professional features alongside a private cloud environment, hosting-location choice, unlimited Workspaces, SCIM provisioning, and BYOK encryption. A Mac-only license costs $120 per seat as a one-time purchase and supports private offline work with local documents.
The product’s strongest fit is a team that wants a connected design-to-handoff workflow rather than a narrow drawing application. Prototypes can use links, hotspots, overlays, triggers, and scrolling areas; shared systems can use reusable components, variables, and Libraries; and developers can inspect designs, download assets, and export PNG, JPG, PDF, EPS, and SVG files. Browser previews, public links, and iPhone and iPad mirroring support review across roles. Established Mac-focused teams should find the feature breadth aligned with collaborative product work, while buyers seeking a free entry point or a primarily platform-neutral desktop workflow should consider alternatives.
