SiteOrigin Page Builder is a free, open-source WordPress plugin for building custom page and post layouts with rows, columns, and widgets. It works with any WordPress theme and includes responsive grid layouts, configurable mobile breakpoints, frontend live editing, instant preview, and a history browser for undo and redo. WordPress site owners, freelancers, agencies, and small businesses can use it to create layouts while staying within the WordPress ecosystem.
The free plan covers the core page-building workflow, while paid plans add all 45 premium addons. Personal costs $60 per site per year and includes email support plus a 1 site license. Business costs $96 per year, adds priority email support, and is multisite compatible. Developer costs $180 per year and includes unlimited site licenses with client-friendly licensing. The paid addon set adds features such as premium visibility controls, mirror widgets, parallax, video backgrounds, and WooCommerce shop, product, and checkout templates.
Its strongest fit is for WordPress users who want flexible layout controls alongside native WordPress Block Editor and WooCommerce integration. Row backgrounds, padding, margins, borders, custom CSS classes, and responsive settings provide control beyond basic content placement, while Layout Block integration connects the builder with the Block Editor. The tradeoff is a narrow platform focus: SiteOrigin Page Builder is designed for web and self-hosted WordPress use, not broader site-building environments. Choose it for an open-source-conscious WordPress workflow with a free entry point; consider another product if your priority is a builder outside WordPress.

- Responsive layouts include configurable mobile breakpoints and live editing
- WooCommerce templates and WordPress Block Editor integration
- Where it doesn't

- Paid plans use annual billing and separate site-license limits
- Built specifically for WordPress rather than broader web platforms
