Signal Loom review
A self-hosted workflow for evidence-linked, accessible web infographics.

Signal Loom is an open-source, self-hosted production workflow for people turning reports, research notes, datasets, interviews, or existing infographics into responsive semantic web infographics. It is aimed at users working through Codex or Claude Code who need a resumable project record rather than a one-off visual. Its Loomfile organizes sources, claims, story structure, visual planning, infographic output, reviews, and checkpoints, with optional carousel and other requested-format derivatives.
Its strongest distinction is evidence traceability. Signal Loom builds evidence-linked story spines and representation plans, then supports static Loomfile and HTML validation, accessibility checks, and structural review. That combination suits research-led publishing, where the relationship between source material, claims, narrative, and visual treatment matters. Loomfile archives also package projects for continued work or handoff, while the semantic, responsive web output keeps the primary format focused on accessible browser-based presentation.
The workflow is specialized rather than a general infographic editor. A clone-based local installation and self-hosted platform model put more responsibility on the user than a hosted visual design service, and publication stays manual-only. Integrations are specifically described for Codex and Claude Code, so teams outside those environments may find the fit narrower. Community support is available through GitHub Issues. Choose Signal Loom if provenance, structured review, accessibility, and controlled publication are central requirements; choose a broader infographic creation tool if you mainly want a general-purpose visual editor or a more automated publishing process.
