Sign It! ASL is a self-paced American Sign Language course for teenagers and adults, including individual learners, homeschoolers, and educators. Its mixed lesson format combines video instruction with practice across fingerspelling, vocabulary, sentence structure, classifiers, and non-manual markers. The curriculum also introduces Deaf culture through interviews and instruction, and provides an ASL video dictionary for reference. Learners can revisit purchased lessons and study at their own pace.
The published plans are organized as 12-month licenses for different group sizes. A Family/Small Group Account supports up to 10 students. A Class Account supports up to 50 students and includes one account manager, while a School Account supports up to 100 students and one account manager. Lessons include quizzes and exams with scoring and progress tracking, plus three difficulty settings and adjustable video speed. Receptive conversation practice and certificates of completion add structure for learners who want measurable coursework.
Sign It! ASL runs on the web and uses cloud deployment, so lessons and quizzes require online access; offline access is not part of the offering. Email is the listed support channel, without 24/7 support. Lessons 1–20 are currently available, with the remaining curriculum still being funded. The course fits learners and small-to-mid-sized educational groups seeking a broad, sequential ASL program. Those who need mobile or offline study, unrestricted free access, or the complete planned curriculum should consider alternatives with those capabilities.
