Shorty Link review
A focused, self-hosted shortener for operators who want control over deployment and routing.

Shorty Link is an open-source URL shortener for operators who want to deploy and manage the service on their own Cloudflare account. It packages redirects, an administrative web interface, an admin REST API, authentication, link management, domains, and click analytics into one Cloudflare Worker backed by D1. Developers can create custom slugs, optionally request AI-generated slug suggestions, and choose among 301, 302, 303, 307, and 308 redirect status codes. The product is best suited to teams that prefer a focused self-hosted tool over a hosted SaaS service.
Its strongest area is control over links and routing. Per-link click tracking and analytics provide visibility into performance, while activation and deactivation preserve link history without deleting it. Multi-domain routing supports host-specific link namespaces, making the product useful when several domains need separate link structures. The REST admin API covers links, domains, users, invites, sessions, and API keys, giving developers a way to manage core operations programmatically. Passkey authentication through Better Auth and WebAuthn, invite-based onboarding, and role-aware administration add structure for teams managing access.
The trade-off is operational responsibility. Shorty Link requires deployment in the operator’s own Cloudflare account and is explicitly not a hosted SaaS product, so it fits buyers comfortable managing their own environment. The project is also pre-1.0 and described as not yet stable, which makes it less suitable for organizations seeking a mature hosted service or a low-maintenance rollout. Buyers who need a minimal, programmable shortener with custom domains and self-hosting should consider it; those prioritizing hosted convenience should choose an alternative.
