Servas review
A structured bookmark manager for teams that want control over deployment and data.

Servas is a self-hosted, open-source bookmark manager for individuals and teams that want structured link organization under their own deployment. Its model centers on nested bookmark groups, tags and smart groups based on tags, with search across bookmarks, groups and tags. Multiple user accounts support shared use, while public groups can be shared by link. Light and dark themes are also included, and browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome-based browsers let users save links from the browser.
Servas stands out for its organization and sharing model. Nested groups provide hierarchy, tags add flexible classification, and smart groups offer saved views based on those tags. Search spans bookmarks, groups and tags rather than stopping at link titles. HTML and JSON import and export support moving bookmark collections into or out of the system. These features suit teams replacing scattered browser bookmarks with a shared, searchable library. Public groups are useful when selected collections need to be accessible through a link, while multiple accounts keep users separated within the same service.
Deployment is a central part of the product rather than an incidental option. Servas supports Docker with SQLite, MySQL or MariaDB, and it can also be installed manually. Two-factor authentication adds an account-security control, but the product remains focused on bookmark management rather than a broader knowledge or content-preservation workflow. There are no mobile apps, built-in archiving, or integrations beyond the Firefox and Chrome browser extensions. Choose Servas when self-hosting, structured organization and team sharing matter most; choose an alternative if mobile access, page archiving or wider ecosystem connections are core requirements.
