Sensei LMS is an open-source WordPress learning management plugin for entrepreneurs, academics, coaches, marketers, agencies, and other course creators. It supports course and lesson creation in the WordPress block editor, learner progress and performance reports, quizzes, video embedding, interactive content, scheduled access, and downloadable PDF certificates. Because it is self-hosted, it fits organizations already building their web presence with WordPress rather than teams seeking a standalone hosted course platform.

The free Sensei Free plan includes unlimited free courses, a certificate builder, basic quizzes, distraction-free learning mode, and compatibility with any WordPress theme. Sensei Pro costs $15 USD per month with annual billing and adds course selling, advanced quizzes, interactive lessons and videos, groups and cohorts, plus everything in the free plan. Sensei Agency costs $30 USD per month with annual billing and covers Sensei Pro and Interactive Blocks on up to 20 sites, shared Slack support, and early access to beta releases. The free plugin is ongoing rather than a trial, and WooCommerce, WooPayments, Subscriptions, Memberships, Affiliates, and payment gateways support integrated selling.

Its strongest distinction is the breadth of learning formats available inside WordPress. Course creators can use multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, free-response, and file-upload questions, along with interactive videos, flashcards, image hotspots, task lists, Zoom or meeting lessons, and timed quizzes. Groups, cohorts, conditional content, co-teachers, and content drip extend the platform beyond basic lesson publishing. Sensei is a strong fit for low-cost WordPress publishing and WooCommerce-based course businesses. Organizations wanting a hosted platform or mobile apps should choose an alternative instead.
