SearchWP is a paid WordPress plugin for site owners who want more control over on-site search across posts, pages, custom post types, fields and supported documents. It indexes site data from the database in the background and integrates with WordPress’s native search, while also allowing programmatic queries. Its focus is small-to-midsize WordPress sites rather than websites on other platforms.

Search depth is the product’s main distinction. Site owners can configure multiple search engines, choose sources and attributes, set rules, and adjust relevance weights and result ordering. Supported PDF, Office, rich-text and plain-text documents can be indexed alongside WordPress content. Live Ajax results are available through the Live Search extension, and statistics record search terms, timestamps, engines and result counts. Integrations include WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Advanced Custom Fields, bbPress, Gravity Forms, WPML and Polylang, which suit sites built around those WordPress tools.

According to the vendor’s pricing page, Standard costs $199 per year and includes search forms, multiple engines, document support and live Ajax results. Pro costs $399 per year, adding metrics and statistics, related content and cross-site multisite search. The $699-per-year All Access Bundle includes Pro features plus WPFilters queries and elements. SearchWP makes sense when improving WordPress search and document discovery is the priority; sites that are not self-hosted WordPress sites, or that need search outside that ecosystem, should consider another approach. The vendor lists email, ticket and documentation support, and a 14-day refund period.
