Groups that need mailing lists to handle OpenPGP mail may find Schleuder a focused fit. It is an email gateway that decrypts and verifies incoming messages, then distributes them to subscribers, including encrypted copies. Administrators can manage lists through a web interface or command-line tools, while subscribers can use email commands to subscribe, unsubscribe, and manage keys. It is aimed at server administrators and groups running their own mail infrastructure, rather than teams looking for a hosted email-marketing service.

OpenPGP handling shapes the product more than campaign tools do. Schleuder manages subscriber and list keys, verifies signatures, and lets administrators configure which headers list messages carry. It can also accept messages from non-subscribers and resend messages to non-subscribers. That remailing behavior broadens how a list can distribute mail, but the central value remains encrypted group communication. Postfix and Exim integration connects it to those mail transport agents, making it relevant to groups already operating either one.

The trade-off is its infrastructure focus. Teams need to manage the mail environment themselves, and Schleuder does not provide signup forms or server-side message archives. Those limits make it a poor match for organizations seeking a general-purpose marketing platform with audience acquisition and a searchable campaign history. Choose it when OpenPGP processing, key management, and control over list delivery matter more than those conveniences; choose another tool if you want a hosted service or built-in list-growth and archive features.
