Samplitude is a Windows digital audio workstation for professional musicians, producers, recording engineers, and audio post-production users. It combines multitrack recording, object-based editing, MIDI composition, virtual instruments, mixing, mastering, and video-audio synchronization in one environment. The standout capacity is its support for up to 999 tracks and 256 inputs/outputs, making it suited to Windows studios handling large sessions. It is less suitable for workflows that require a non-Windows platform.

Pricing is structured around monthly, annual, and perpetual licenses. The Samplitude monthly subscription costs $25 per month, while the annual subscription costs $145 per year. The perpetual edition costs $395 one time and includes one year of upgrades and support. Samplitude Suite costs $175 per year on an annual subscription or $495 one time for a perpetual license. Suite adds additional plugins and tools, including native Dolby Atmos and ADM editing and AI background-noise removal through the included CrumplePop tools. A 15-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.

For complex production work, Samplitude’s feature depth extends beyond track count. Object-based editing provides clip-level effects, routing, fades, and automation; MIDI support includes MPE, notation, drum editing, and MIDI-VST plugins; and VST/VST3, ARA2, Soundly, CrumplePop, Celemony Melodyne, Acon Digital Acoustica, and Sound Forge fit into its broader plugin and editing ecosystem. Video import, playback, editing, and audio-to-video synchronization support post-production workflows, while OSC enables network remote control. Choose Samplitude for Windows-based studios that need extensive routing and editing capacity. Choose another option for non-Windows environments or for buyers seeking a free audio editor.
