Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a hosted commerce platform for businesses selling to consumers and other businesses. It supports B2B, B2C, and D2C storefronts, product catalogs, merchandising, payments, checkout, order capture, fulfillment, shipping, returns, service workflows, and point of sale. Omnichannel inventory visibility includes location-level availability, while AI features cover product recommendations, shopping assistance, generative page design, product descriptions, and merchandising workflows. It is most suitable for enterprise commerce teams already centered on Salesforce products and needing multiple sales channels.
Pricing is contact-based. Salesforce describes pricing as a percentage of GMV, with additional charges possible for orders handled through other channels. The published editions include Commerce Cloud B2C Premium with 100 sites and 3,500 Price Books, Full Order Management, and personalization with Data Cloud Segments and Intelligence Dashboards. B2B Growth Edition includes 6 storefronts, Order Management Lite, analytics, automation, segmentation, and 20 inventory locations. B2B Advanced Edition includes 10 storefronts, Full Order Management, advanced analytics, automation, segmentation, personalization, and 20 inventory locations. A no-cost Foundations offering provides commerce capabilities within eligible Sales and Service Enterprise editions or higher, rather than as a standalone Commerce Cloud edition.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud fits organizations that want commerce connected to Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Order Management, Salesforce Payments, MuleSoft, AgentExchange, and AppExchange. Its breadth is a strength for teams coordinating storefronts, inventory, orders, customer service, marketing, and POS across channels. The tradeoff is commercial and architectural complexity: pricing depends on sales discussions and GMV, while advanced functionality is divided across editions. Teams seeking a narrow storefront tool, simple self-serve pricing, or a platform outside the Salesforce ecosystem should consider alternatives instead.
