Saleor review
A flexible headless commerce foundation for API-first teams with enterprise budgets.

Saleor is an open-source, headless ecommerce platform for teams building customized commerce experiences. Its API-first architecture supports web, iOS, Android, retail, and other storefronts, while the administration dashboard covers catalog management, merchandising, checkout, payments, promotions, orders, inventory, fulfillment, and returns. It is aimed at organizations that want control over their commerce stack through Saleor Cloud or self-hosted deployment, rather than a fixed storefront system.
Pricing is split between a forever-free Sandboxes plan and paid production options. Sandboxes are intended for prototyping and testing and allow non-commercial use only. Select costs $1,599 per month and applies 0.8% to orders exceeding its GMV allowance. Volume costs $3,999 per month and applies 0.4% above its allowance. Enterprise has negotiable pricing, with rates as low as 0.2%. The paid plans also include a fair API usage policy, so merchants should assess both the monthly subscription and GMV-related charges before choosing a tier.
Saleor’s ecosystem fits teams assembling a composable stack. Listed integrations include Adyen and Stripe for payments, Avalara AvaTax and TaxJar for tax, Strapi, Contentful, DatoCMS, Builder.io, and Payload CMS for content, plus Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Algolia, Google Merchant Center, OpenID Connect, and Twilio Segment. Apps, extensions, webhooks, and custom data models add further scope. Choose Saleor when API control, multichannel commerce, digital products, and deployment flexibility matter. It is less suitable for teams seeking a simple, commercial-use-free plan or a narrowly packaged storefront with fixed pricing.
