Roxio Creator NXT 9 is a paid Windows multimedia suite for consumers and creators working with home videos, photos, audio, and physical media. Its Roxio MyDVD component handles DVD authoring with customizable menus, templates, chapters, and multiple movies per disc. The wider suite covers video editing and format conversion, photo editing and slideshows, audio capture and CD creation, screen and multi-camera capture, disc copying, ISO creation, and data backup. It suits Windows users who want disc authoring alongside general media tools rather than a narrowly focused DVD application.
DVD creation is the central fit for this category. Users can create chapters manually or automatically, build menus from templates, produce ISO disc images, and burn CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. The published capabilities also include dual-layer support and both DVD standards. Creator NXT 9 provides DVD and CD burning, Roxio MyDVD authoring, and video, photo, and audio editing. Creator NXT Pro 9 includes those capabilities and adds Blu-ray authoring through a separate plug-in, along with additional photo, video, and secure burning tools. The plan structure makes the Pro edition the clearer choice for users whose workflows include Blu-ray video authoring.
Its broader toolset is useful when the project starts with captured or edited media: video conversion, slideshows, audio editing, screen recording, and multi-camera capture are all included in the suite. That breadth is less necessary for someone who only needs to assemble a basic DVD menu and burn a disc. Roxio Creator NXT 9 should appeal to Windows users who want editing, capture, authoring, and physical-media utilities in one paid product. Users seeking a platform beyond Windows, or a narrowly focused authoring tool without additional media functions, should consider a different fit.
