RNote is a web-based note-taking app for capturing and organizing plain-text, Markdown and rich-text notes. It is aimed at individuals and small teams that want a focused scratch pad rather than a broader workspace. Notes are organized into notepads, changes save automatically on every keystroke, and sharing supports both viewing and editing. Read-only links and real-time collaboration make it suitable for shared reference notes, lightweight documentation and collaborative drafting.

The pricing structure keeps the entry point simple. The Free plan costs £0 forever and includes up to three notepads, plain-text, Markdown and rich-text formatting, plus HTML and PDF export. Pro costs £2 per month when billed monthly or £20 per year when billed annually. It adds unlimited notepads, read-only sharing, real-time collaboration, offline mode, protected version history and API access. A 14-day free trial is also available. For teams that need more than three notepads, the low Pro price makes the paid upgrade straightforward, while occasional users may find the Free plan sufficient.

RNote’s strongest fit is its narrow, practical feature set: multiple editing styles, automatic saving, sharing controls, live collaboration, exports and a REST API for reading and writing notepads. Offline mode is reserved for Pro, and the product is available on the web rather than as separate desktop or mobile applications. Its integration surface is therefore centered on the API, not a wide ecosystem of connected services. Choose RNote for simple collaborative notes and lightweight documentation; choose another tool if native apps or extensive integrations are central requirements.
