RhinoArtisan review
A deep Rhino-based jewelry toolkit, priced for professional design and production teams.

RhinoArtisan is a Windows desktop plugin for Rhino 7 and Rhino 8, designed for jewelry designers, manufacturers and retailers. Its focus is the full jewelry workflow: parametric ring, shank and component builders; gemstone creation and placement; pavé, bezel, basket, halo, cluster, peg-head and microsetting tools; plus rendering and production preparation. The software also includes AI-assisted and generative features in RhinoArtisan 7, making it a fit for teams already working in Rhino that need jewelry-specific capabilities within that environment.
Pricing is structured as one-time purchases. The Competitive Upgrade costs €2,400 for eligible users of 3Design, Matrix, RhinoGold or other jewelry CAD software. The For Rhino Users edition costs €3,000 for users who already own a commercial Rhino 7 or Rhino 8 license. The Full Edition costs €4,000 and includes RhinoArtisan 7 plus a Rhino 8 Commercial license. Enterprise plans have custom terms for more than three seats, multiple locations or procurement purchasing. A 15-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. The published options make RhinoArtisan more suitable for professional buyers than casual or low-cost users.
Its strongest advantage is the connection between design detail and manufacturing output. Protected ring resizing, gemstone compatibility, physically based and real-time rendering, metal and labor price calculations, manufacturing reports, gemstone maps, technical data, sprue generation, STL export and direct 3D-printing workflows cover more than modeling alone. Integrations with Grasshopper, KeyShot and Nivoda extend the surrounding workflow. Choose RhinoArtisan if your operation already depends on Rhino and needs jewelry-specific production tools; choose an alternative if you need browser access, a non-Rhino workflow or a lower upfront cost.
