RetroTagr is a cloud service for adding GPS metadata to photographs through a web interface. It suits individuals and small teams organizing historical, travel or other photo libraries. A typical workflow involves uploading a photo, choosing a point on an interactive map, optionally requesting an AI location suggestion, and downloading a separate copy with the selected location embedded. Collections help organize uploads, while approximate-location placement supports cases where an exact point is not appropriate. The original file remains untouched.
The pricing structure combines one-time photo packs with subscriptions. Locate 30 photos costs €1.99, Locate 100 photos costs €4.99, and Locate 300 photos costs €9.99. The Free plan includes 50 photos, three collections and 15 AI credits per month. Starter adds unlimited collections, 30 AI credits per month and priority support; its annual option costs €48 per year. Pro adds the full AI suite, unlimited collections, 120 AI credits per month, priority support and bulk operations; its annual option costs €96 per year. This gives occasional users a way to buy a defined batch while regular users can choose recurring allowances.
RetroTagr runs on the web and connects with Mapbox, Stripe, Google OAuth, Supabase, Vercel, Resend and PostHog. Its standout capability is the combination of interactive map selection, manual EXIF processing and optional AI suggestions, with bulk operations available at the Pro level. Email is the listed support channel, and GDPR is the stated compliance posture. Choose RetroTagr for browser-based manual geotagging with flexible batch sizes; consider another option if you need native apps, broader support channels or bulk workflows without Pro.
