Reeder is an Apple-platform reading app for people who want one place to follow RSS feeds, videos, podcasts and social media posts. Its unified timeline brings mixed content formats together, while folders, tags, Favorites, Bookmarks and Later help organize what to read or revisit. The app supports iPhone, iPad and Mac and connects with iCloud, Mastodon, Bluesky and Micro.blog.

The free plan includes nearly all features and allows up to 10 feeds. The Monthly plan costs $1 per month, and the Yearly plan costs $10 per year; both cover iPhone, iPad and Mac with one subscription. Paid access is therefore aimed at readers who need broader feed access or subscriber features across Apple devices. iCloud synchronization covers subscriptions, timeline positions and tagged items, while OPML export and JSON export of saved items support moving or preserving reading data.

Reeder’s strongest fit is for Apple users who want a focused feed reader with more than RSS alone. Keyword, media-type and feed-type filters can narrow a mixed timeline, and Reader View, the in-app browser and a sharing extension support a save-and-read-later workflow. Shared public JSON feeds from tags add another way to distribute curated items. Its scope is content collection and organization rather than reading instruction: it does not provide phonics, comprehension or fluency practice. Choose Reeder for a low-cost Apple reading hub; readers who need broader platform coverage or structured literacy practice should choose an alternative.
