Reconstrura is a Windows and Linux desktop application for turning videos, photo folders, and 360° footage into 3D Gaussian splats. It is aimed at solo creators, small teams, and mid-market users who want local processing rather than a web workflow. The pipeline covers automatic frame extraction, redundancy filtering, optional SAM 2.1 or EdgeTAM masking, GPU camera reconstruction, sparse point-cloud generation, adjustable splat training, and interactive previews. A built-in editor adds selection, transforms, undo/redo, and reusable objects.

Pricing is straightforward: the Reconstrura license costs $25 as a one-time purchase. The license includes future updates, activation on up to three devices at once, and no subscription or per-scene charge. A three-day evaluation trial is available without a card, while trial outputs are restricted to non-commercial use under the EULA. Processing occurs on the user’s computer, so setup depends on having a compatible NVIDIA GPU with at least 8 GB of VRAM and either Windows or Linux.

Reconstrura fits workflows that move assets into SuperSplat, Postshot, Brush, Blender, or OpenUSD. Export options include PLY, SPZ, OpenUSD, and transforms.json datasets, with undistorted dataset output also supported. The application includes live point-cloud and splat previews, but it does not provide mobile capture or a web viewer. Choose it when local editing, broad capture imports, and a low one-time cost matter; consider another tool if you need browser access, mobile capture, or a platform beyond Windows and Linux.
