RealDownloader is the video-downloading component of RealPlayer, designed for people who want to save online video and audio across desktop and mobile devices. It supports downloads from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and thousands of other websites. Users can choose resolution, format, codec, frame rate and audio-language tracks, download audio-only files, save subtitles, and record live streams in real time. YouTube sign-in also enables access to Watch Later, Liked and private videos. The product fits solo users and small teams that need more control than a basic downloader.
Pricing spans a limited Free plan and several paid options. Free provides one-click downloads up to 720p. Downloader Express costs $24.99 one-time and adds downloads up to 8K, YouTube playlist downloads and simultaneous, unlimited-speed downloads. Plus costs $39.99 one-time with the same 8K and playlist capabilities, adding a file format converter. Premium includes those 8K and playlist features plus 25 GB of cloud storage, priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Buyers should compare the one-time tiers with Premium's storage and billing model before choosing.
Its ecosystem is broad for a downloader: RealDownloader runs on Windows, iOS and Android, supports desktop and mobile deployment, and offers output options including FLV, MP4, AAC, MPEG4, H.264, MOV, RealVideo, RealAudio and WebM. Device conversion helps prepare files for specific hardware, while subtitle-language selection and multiple audio tracks add flexibility. The trade-off is scope: users who only need occasional 720p saves may find Free sufficient, while people seeking browser-only access or platforms outside Windows, iOS and Android should consider another tool.
