Ravlen review
A privacy-focused Outlook client with offline mail and local AI, limited to one account.

Ravlen is a desktop email client for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts, aimed at people who want keyboard-driven inbox control and privacy-oriented defaults. It runs on Linux, with a verified AppImage installer, while the macOS build is not yet released. The client supports offline access to synced mail, native desktop notifications, threaded conversations with quoted copies collapsed, and a command layer for inbox actions. Its focus is narrow: this is an Outlook and Microsoft 365 client rather than a multi-provider email application.
The published plan shows one paid tier, Ravlen, at $4.99 USD per email address per month with monthly billing. The plan includes unlimited devices for one email address and Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 account support. A 21-day free trial is available. Subscriptions are arranged by email rather than through self-serve checkout, and pricing is per Outlook email address. That structure suits an individual with one work or personal Outlook address, but the single-account limit makes it less suitable for people who regularly manage several inboxes.
Ravlen’s strongest distinction is the combination of privacy controls and configurable AI. Remote images and tracking pixels are blocked by default for unfamiliar senders, while AI prompts can use a provider and key selected by the user. Supported AI integrations include OpenAI, Grok, Gemini, and local Ollama processing. Those options give privacy-conscious users more control over where AI processing occurs, while keyboard controls and offline mail support favor desktop workflows. Choose Ravlen if you use Outlook or Microsoft 365, want a focused Linux client, and value offline access and configurable AI. Choose another email client if you need multiple connected accounts, another mail provider, or a released macOS application.
