Ratals CMS is a free, open-source, self-hosted content management system for businesses and agencies building websites. It is aimed at developers who want control over deployment and customization rather than a hosted website builder. The CMS supports content types for pages, posts, categories, products, and author profiles, alongside custom database tables, admin pages, forms, navigation menus, media sliders, and multi-site management from one installation. Its Apache 2.0 license and full source code access support deeper customization and customer-managed infrastructure.

Pricing is structured around expanding business capability. The Ratals CMS plan is free and includes CMS, SEO, analytics, security, full source code access, and the Apache 2.0 license. Ratals Commerce is listed at $79 per month and adds eCommerce, order management, CRM, marketing tools, and a Ratals Business License. Ratals ERP is listed at $199 per month and adds inventory management, unlimited warehouses, purchasing and procurement, and accounting. Ratals AI is listed at $299 per month and adds an AI workspace and assistant, AI content and SEO tools, business intelligence, and business forecasting. ERP and AI pricing is marked coming soon.

For agency work, Ratals CMS has useful control over site structure and ongoing management. Customizable URLs, redirects, sitemap controls, reusable templates, modular Sub-Items, internal linking tools, caching, security protections, analytics, and one-click updates cover much of the operational foundation for content-led sites. The trade-off is deployment responsibility: the platform is self-hosted, so teams must manage the infrastructure where it runs. Developers seeking an open-source foundation, multi-site support, and database flexibility should consider it; teams wanting a hosted, low-maintenance builder should look elsewhere.
