RØDE Reporter is a mobile audio-recording app for iPhone, iPad and Android. It targets podcasters, location recordists, broadcast reporters, musicians and anyone capturing spoken notes or performances away from a desktop. With a compatible microphone, it records mono or stereo audio at up to 24-bit and 48 kHz, while a real-time waveform and input-level meter provide visual monitoring during a take.

The pricing structure has one Free plan. It includes mobile audio recording and native sharing, with no paid tier described. The app works across iOS and Android and connects with RØDE microphones. For selected RØDE microphone models, the app also provides firmware updates and access to digital signal-processing features. Recording can use standard or uncompressed modes, with variable bit rates of 128, 256 or 320 kbps for compressed files. WAV, MP3 and AAC export gives the resulting files practical format choices.

Its strongest case is controlled capture in the field: waveform visibility, level monitoring, high-resolution recording and direct export cover the essentials for gathering clean source audio. The trade-off is scope. RØDE Reporter is a recorder and sharing tool rather than a multitrack production environment, and advanced editing, MIDI and audio-effects workflows sit outside its documented focus. Choose it if your priority is dependable mobile capture with RØDE hardware support and flexible file output. Choose an alternative if you need layered arranging, detailed post-production or a broader studio workflow on the phone.
