Qube! review
Cross-DCC scheduling and pipeline hooks for studios managing hybrid render farms.

Qube! manages rendering work across workstations, servers, and render nodes for artists, render wranglers, and studio pipeline teams. It coordinates Windows, Linux, and macOS systems, with support for creative applications including Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Blender, 3ds Max, VRED, and Unreal Engine. Its hybrid operation and cross-platform support suit studios connecting varied tools and infrastructure. Teams seeking a hosted service rather than software for customer-managed infrastructure should look elsewhere.
Scheduling is the central strength: jobs can use priorities, dependencies, preemption, and retries, while teams can monitor workers, jobs, frames, licenses, and failures. Automatic wrangling and offline host reacquisition address farm operations, and custom job types, pipeline hooks, and a Python API provide ways to adapt workflows. This breadth makes Qube! a fit for complex pipelines spanning multiple DCC applications; smaller teams with straightforward rendering needs may not need its scheduling and pipeline depth.
According to the vendor's pricing page, Commercial Subscription — Worker costs $25 per Worker per month or $100 per Worker per year; Commercial Subscription — Supervisor costs $100 per Supervisor per month or $500 per Supervisor per year. Both include maintenance and support. Education Subscription plans are listed as Small, Medium, Large, and Addon, with site-license descriptions. A 30-day trial is available. Licensing is split between Workers and Supervisors, so studios should account for both roles when planning subscriptions. Qube! is best suited to teams that want detailed scheduling and pipeline control on their own infrastructure, rather than buyers prioritizing a free plan or a hosted-first workflow.
