Pusher Beams is a hosted push notification API for developers building web, iOS, and Android applications. It supports notifications sent from application backends to individual users or groups of subscribed devices, making it suitable for transactional and personalized messages such as delivery updates, social activity, game events, and e-commerce workflows. Client and server SDKs, an HTTP API, and device-token management give development teams several ways to publish and manage notifications.

Its feature set focuses on delivery infrastructure rather than campaign management. Authenticated user targeting can reach a user's devices, while Device Interests support group-based delivery. Webhooks cover publish, acknowledgement, and open events, and delivery and notification-open insights provide visibility into notification activity. The Realtime Debug Console adds a dedicated troubleshooting surface. This makes Beams a strong fit for teams that want managed push operations inside an existing application stack, but it is less suited to buyers looking for a broad marketing platform or desktop push support.

The published plans use subscriber limits as the main scale boundary. Sandbox is free and includes standard support, documentation, tutorials, and 1,000 subscribers. Startup costs $29 per month for 10,000 subscribers, followed by Pro at $99 for 50,000, Business at $199 for 115,000, and Premium at $399 for 250,000. Business and Premium include premium support, while the other listed plans include standard support. Developers should choose Beams when API access, cross-platform mobile and web delivery, and managed device targeting are priorities; teams needing desktop notifications or broader ecosystem coverage should consider an alternative.
