Pulsonix review
A Windows EDA suite for complex routing, flex-rigid boards and PCB panels.

Pulsonix is a Windows desktop electronic design automation suite from WestDev Ltd, covering schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation and manufacturing preparation. It suits electronics teams that need more than basic board layout, particularly those handling high-speed routing, flex-rigid designs or PCB panels. Hierarchical schematics include electrical rules checking, while PCB tools cover placement, routing and design-rule management. Its scope can serve small, mid-market and enterprise teams, though the workflow is centered on desktop Windows use.
Board complexity is a central strength. Constraint-driven high-speed design includes differential-pair routing, and flex-rigid design includes 3D bend visualization. Optional PulsonixSim uses ngspice-based circuit simulation. For mechanical collaboration, the suite exchanges 3D PCB and MCAD data through STEP, IDF, IDX and DXF. Panel editing handles PCB arrays, tab-routes and V-score profiles, giving production preparation a place alongside design. Component Search Engine access includes more than 15 million parts. Teams that need these capabilities in one environment may find Pulsonix a fit; those seeking a non-Windows option should look elsewhere.
Vault provides revision control, access controls and audit history for design data. Pricing is handled through sales via regional distributors rather than a published current price, so buyers need to contact sales to evaluate cost. A downloadable trial includes full-edition features but is limited to 100 component pins, which may constrain evaluation of larger designs. Support channels include email, phone, community and documentation. Pulsonix is worth considering for teams prioritizing routing depth, board panels and revision-managed design; buyers who need open-source software or a clear self-service price should consider alternatives.
Pulsonix pros and cons

- Supports high-speed routing, differential pairs and flex-rigid 3D visualization.
- Panel editor and Vault revision controls support manufacturing workflows.
- Where it doesn't
- Windows desktop deployment limits platform choice.
- PulsonixSim circuit simulation is optional rather than included by default.
- The downloadable trial is limited to 100 component pins.
