PTGui review
A broad, cross-platform panorama toolkit for demanding manual and automated workflows.

PTGui is desktop panorama-stitching software for photographers and imaging professionals who need control across wide-angle, spherical and HDR projects. It combines overlapping photographs into flat, cylindrical or spherical panoramas, including fully spherical 360° × 180° outputs. Automatic alignment supports a faster starting point, while manual editing and alignment provide control over the stitching process. Camera RAW input, multi-row panorama stitching, panorama editing and several output formats make it suited to workflows that extend beyond basic single-row panoramas.
The product’s strongest differentiator is its breadth of panorama and imaging features. It supports DNG, JPEG, TIFF and Photoshop output, along with a panorama viewer and web publishing. PTGui Pro adds HDR stitching, exposure fusion, masking, viewpoint correction, tone mapping and batch control-point generation. OpenCL GPU acceleration is also included, and the software can process batches through Batch Stitching and Batch Builder in Pro. These capabilities make PTGui a fit for users who need repeatable processing, complex alignment and more than one panorama format.
Platform coverage is another practical advantage: PTGui runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, making it suitable for mixed-device environments. A time-unlimited trial allows prospective buyers to evaluate the workflow, although stitched panoramas carry watermarks during the trial. Users who need HDR, batch processing and the full Pro feature set should select PTGui Pro. Those seeking a free plan or a lightweight panorama tool may prefer a simpler alternative, while advanced users needing cross-platform control and multiple stitching methods are the clearest match.
