PTE AV Studio is desktop software for creating photo, video, and audio slideshows on Windows and macOS. It is aimed at photographers, camera clubs, audiovisual groups, and other creators who need more control than a basic photo-to-video maker provides. Projects can combine photos, video clips, music, captions, transitions, and timeline-based editing, with output suited to presentations, television, mobile devices, and social media. The product is a fit for users who value detailed editing and local desktop production over a lightweight browser workflow.
Its strongest area is slideshow construction depth. The timeline supports multiple audio tracks and slide synchronization, while audio tools include fades, duration controls, start-time adjustment, and cross-fading. Keyframes enable pan, zoom, rotation, and 3D transformations, and the library includes more than 130 slide styles, themes, and transitions. Captions can use animation and EXIF metadata macros. Photo and video adjustments include cropping, color effects, masks, and blur, giving creators room to shape both the visual treatment and the pacing of a project.
Output options are broad: HD and 4K video can use H.264 or AV1 encoding, and vertical or square exports support social-media formats. The software can also export slides as JPEG or PNG files and create executable slideshow files for PC and Mac. The Standard edition is limited to Windows, and there is a 30-day trial but no permanent free plan.
