PopMan is a free desktop email manager for POP3 and IMAP4 accounts. It is aimed at users who want to inspect incoming mail, remove unwanted messages from the server, and download only selected items. Rather than requiring complete message downloads, it lists messages on incoming mail servers and provides text-based previews. Its focus is practical server-side control, making it a fit for mailbox cleanup and monitoring rather than a full composing and organizing workflow.

The feature set centers on controlling what reaches the local device. PopMan can delete unwanted messages directly from the server, apply rules to identify and handle messages, and use blacklists and whitelists for senders and domains. Text previews do not execute HTML code, while selective downloading gives users more control over which messages are retrieved. Background account checking with notifications adds an ongoing monitoring option, and the product supports account management for both POP3 and IMAP4.

PopMan is free, and the published download lists version 1.3.18. It is designed for Windows and can also run on Linux through WINE. A portable distribution stores settings locally and can be used from removable media, which suits users who want a self-contained desktop utility. Choose PopMan if server-side listing, deletion, filtering, and selective retrieval are the main requirements. Choose a broader email client instead if composing, organizing, and managing messages in a complete everyday inbox are central to the workflow.
