PlagAware is an online plagiarism checker for educational institutions, businesses, publishers, website operators and individuals. It compares submitted text with publicly available web content, personal reference documents and previous scans. Submissions can be made through file upload, copy-and-paste or the API. The service also supports web-content monitoring, scheduled scans, interactive source evaluation, graphical text comparison and PDF or DOCX report exports. It is available through the web and API, with Moodle integration for learning-management workflows.

The published plans show a free entry point and low-cost recurring tiers. Free includes 10 scan pages per month. Light costs €2.99 per month and includes 50+10 scan pages monthly plus monitoring for up to 100 URLs or texts. Standard costs €12.49 per month with 250+10 scan pages and up to 500 monitored URLs or texts. Premium costs €39.99 per month with 1000+10 scan pages and more than 500 monitored URLs or texts. Prepaid Package S costs €12.90 one time for 100 scan pages without a subscription. The subscription page lists a six-month minimum term despite monthly displayed prices.

PlagAware fits users who need repeat checks, web matching, personal reference-library comparisons and monitoring without starting at an institutional-tier price. Its API and Moodle connection extend it beyond one-off browser checks, while exports support report-based workflows. The main constraint is ecosystem breadth: Moodle is the listed learning-management integration, so organizations needing wider platform coverage may prefer an alternative. Language coverage also matters; the FAQ describes support for Latin-based languages, while Greek, Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew are unsupported. Choose PlagAware for budget-conscious recurring checking and monitoring; avoid it when broad integrations or non-Latin language support are central requirements.
