Personal Henshucho Ver.17 review
A Windows layout tool for multi-page print projects, with vertical text and PDF/X export.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Personal Henshucho Ver.17 is desktop publishing software for Windows, designed for people producing printed material such as newspapers, booklets, newsletters, flyers and posters. Community groups, schools and small organizations can use its page-layout tools to assemble multi-page publications, including layouts with Japanese text running horizontally or vertically. It is a focused fit for print-oriented work rather than a cross-platform publishing workflow.
Its feature set centers on preparing and refining pages for print. Users can add comments to articles and images, edit and crop images, and adjust color. The software exports PDF, including PDF/X print formats, and supports long-page printing up to 10 m by 10 m. More than 500 samples and templates give users starting points for layouts. AI writing assistance is also included, using a ChatGPT account; it is an adjunct to the publishing workflow, while layout and export remain the core purpose.
The listed Download Edition is a paid product, and its page price is 19,690; the published listing does not specify the currency. The plan is described as a single-purchase downloadable desktop publishing software. Email and documentation are the stated support channels. Windows-only availability makes it a poor choice for teams that need macOS support, while page comments are more limited than shared editing for collaborative production. Choose Personal Henshucho for Japanese-language print layouts on Windows, especially newspapers and booklets; consider another tool if cross-platform access or deeper collaboration is essential.
