Penny is tutoring business management software for independent tutors, teachers, tutoring centres, and tutor agencies. It brings individual and group lesson scheduling, recurring schedules, tutor assignments, attendance tracking, lesson notes, student and family profiles, invoicing, payment capture, account statements, outstanding balance tracking, financial reporting, tutor payroll, and payslip generation into one application. Its AI-assisted features cover student insights, forecasting, and parent report generation, making it suited to centres that want administration and tutor compensation handled together.

The published plans show a paid product with a 7-day full-access trial. Standard costs ZAR 380 per month or ZAR 3800 per year and includes the full Penny platform, 150 emails per month, AI integration support, Windows and macOS support, and updates. Pro costs ZAR 450 per month or ZAR 4000 per year. It adds the option to bring your own domain and Postmark server, with unlimited emails governed by the selected Postmark plan. The annual options provide a lower listed price than paying monthly for a full year, while both tiers retain the same core tutoring-management scope.

Penny’s strongest fit is a Windows or Mac centre that needs more than a calendar: recurring lessons, family billing, financial reporting, payroll, and payslips are all part of the workflow. Local operation and offline availability for most functions may suit organisations that prefer desktop software. The platform trade-off is a narrower ecosystem, with Postmark and Google Gemini listed as integrations, and support limited to Windows and macOS. Choose Penny when payroll and AI-assisted reporting matter alongside core tutoring administration; consider another option when broad platform coverage or a larger integration ecosystem is central to the buying decision.
